Print Document VS Online Document

I think print document is a big waste of paper and it demonstrate a lack of environmental consciousness. For example, around 4 -5 newspapers are free to distribute to people in Hong Kong. After reading people like to discard in MTR, KCR or bus.
All these newspapers can also be read on the internet, only in a different format. Many people like to read newspapers on the internet because the quality of paper with newspaper is dirty, and has many ads in it. Online newspapers are very convenient, just click on the bar then choose the news you want to read.

Print Document
-You must have a long time to read the print
-Is a linear form of presentation
-Is not in a real time

Online Document
-Is inreal time
-Can read in a short time
-Is interactive
-Includes multimedia-is a nested presentation

The difference between Weblog and website

It is a lot of overlap between blog and website and it’s fair to say that blogs are a subset of websites, or that a blog is a form of website.

Blogging software as a great, lightweight content management system for a website that allow you to focus on content rather than HTML.

People like use a short form words in weblog, for example “4”=for, “u”=you, “dun’=don’t.......etc.

Website like use a formal form, most of websites are provide the informative.

This is Edison Chen’s blog, who is a famous artist in Hong Kong, he like use the short form, and the photography is more than words, most of artists blog are photography more than words, maybe they think that their fans just want to know what they are doing, and these photography can represented many things.

How to make a blog?

From my research, I discovered that most of the suppliers provide a simple structure and easy guidelines to help people build up their own blogs because many people do not know what design principles are.
Let me briefly to explain which principles make up a blog:
* Balance and symmetry ( graphics, words and photography must balance)
* Use color effectively, develop colour schemes (e.g. sub-heading can use different colours to attract people awareness to read)
* Use textures, lines, points, shapes, volumes and depth (using less words is important because words must have deep meanings, one can use bullet point form or one can use paragraph form but people shouldn’t more words) * Effective imagery: choosing, editing and placing images

Case Study

Annie’s homegrown is an established company that makes natural macaroni and cheese as well as other organic food products. Their blog was started in February 2005, and it is a “character blog” written by their mascot, “Bernie, a Rabbit of approval”.
Some people are skeptical of character blogs, but in the case of Annie’s homegrown, it works quite well. Many of Annie’s products appeal to children, and having the bunny “writing” the blog entries can draw children in. “Bernie the Bunny is our mascot and blogs need a single voice, so Bernie was chosen”.
For a new blog, Bernie’s blog is very successful in terms of receiving comments. It was actually successful right off the bat; they received comments on their very first entry. Their blog already has a small community of regular readers who leave comments and feedback.
Bernie’s blog is a blend of news in the health food world and talking about different company products. The entries that discuss Annie’s products are the entries that receive the most comments.

How different people use blog?

There are two main types of blog:
-Commercial Blog (Promote product or something through the blog)
-Personal Blog (just like a dairy through blog)

Blogs are cheap and easy to build up. Many businesses and marketers distribute or pass information through blogs because blogs can increase their reach in current and new markets as well as create more efficient communication structures, increasing their turnover.

Blogs are “hot” and very popular nowadays. They are a phenomenon, letting people communicate with each other, just like an ICQ, MSN. The difference between ICQ, MSN and a blog is that ICQ and MSN communicate with people in real time, but blogs post a context, and people can leave messages after reading.

Knowledge: What is blog?

Nowadays, most of people think a “blog” is for people to write about their daily life or about memorable things, places or photos in order to share with others via the internet.

I had to do a lot of research for this assignment because my knowledge of blogs is very superficial.

Blogs are instant publishing tools that allow you easily and frequently update your content. Blogs are said to be dynamic content delivery systems and even content management systems. Blogs have opened a door to communicate where people can voice their opinions and spread their ideas freely with a group of like-minded people.

Blogs have another name, that is weblogs, it is mean that web logs, and it is a server’s log files.
